Why do we need to remember this great "cloud of witnesses"? Simply put - trials, persecutions, struggles, temptations and all of the other negative things we will go through in this life. Those witnesses proved to us that endurance and sustained faith is possible and we can find encouragement through their example. Jesus however is the ultimate example and is the core example and should be the focal point for us throughout our lives.

This section is quite encouraging and reminds/informs us that Jesus being a high priest has been able to enter into the holiest place on our behalf and is there forever as our hope. We have an anchor for our soul in Jesus.
