Colourism: Differential treatment based on skin colour, especially favourtism toward those with a lighter skin tone, and mistreatment or exclusion of those with a darker skin tone.

Tracy and I talk about this form of discrimination and how it shows up in the beauty industry, television and movies, the effects of colourism on self esteem, she also talks about her personal experience dealing with colourism, and lastly, how she works to represent all women – of all skin tones.

I had the honour and pleasure of interviewing socially conscious photographer Zahra Siddiqui 3 years ago for my blog.
