In this episode of Worktapes, I chat with my dear friend and Nashville-based producer Micah Tawlks. We discuss how production can play a vital role in songwriting. From painstakingly pulling lyrics out of an experience, to changing lines to fit a phrase or being called on to write for others. We hear how a song called "Smile" that Micah produced with Louis Prince went from a demo with no lyrics to a full beautiful and meaningful song.
