The Jones are the founders of Midnight Comics LLC. The two are married, passionate parents and creators who wanted to create stories that aren't afraid to take risks and characters that their children could see themselves in. They also wanted to create more characters that not only look like them, but to create scenarios that show that we are not a monolith. Today Llord Jones joins to share more on Grey, co-created with his wife Tosha. Toshi J is the writer and creator of Admani and the writer of The Grey. Toshi is a wife, mother of three, actress, writer, and business owner, as well as a Glyph award winning editor with Konkret Comics. The story of Shameka is an important. It gives us more Black women in the STEM field, while also being a fun sci-fi esc story that balances tone between serious and a bit more comical at times.

We often see men in the comic space, not just as characters, but also as the creators. Not often is there a black woman in the room when these characters are created or even written. Not only is it important for these characters to exist, but it is also important that, like with Black characters in general we need Black people in the room, but that there are Black women in the room, or in charge of the room when telling stories about Black women.

Daniel Kibblesmith is an Emmy-nominated TV writer and author from Oak Park, Illinois.

He was most recently a Co-Executive Producer for [coming soon] on [redacted], and Netflix Animation’s Inside Job (2021) — as well as writing for shows like Clone High (Max, 2023), The Nevers (HBO, 2021) and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert (CBS, 2015 - 2020). He was also the writer of the televised live event Celebrating Marvel’s Stan Lee (ABC, 2019) and a writer for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards (2017). With illustrator, Ashley Quach, he is the author of the picture books Princess Dinosaur (LBYR, 2021) and Santa’s Husband (Harper Design, 2017).

He is also the author of We Wish You a Harley Christmas: DC Holiday Carols (Chronicle Books, 2020) and the co-author of the humor book, How to Win at Everything (Chronicle Books, 2013). In comics, he’s written for characters like Spider-Man, Loki, Black Panther, Deadpool, Harley Quinn, Darkwing Duck and others for Marvel, D.C. Comics, Dynamite, Oni, Valiant Comics, Vault, Archie, Boom! Studios and possibly others. With co-writer Eliot Rahal, and artist Kendall Goode, he is co-creator of the creator-owned comic, The Doorman.

Doug Knight is a comic book creator, writer, and artist who as a child was diagnosed with having a tumor. Spending years off and on in hospitals Doug gained a love for comic book leading to a passion for writing and drawing. Today Doug is doing well although still living with that same tumor which has resulting in him being legally blind. This has created a passion of telling his story in the pages of comic books.

Ron Marz has been writing comics for three decades, starting his career with a lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel. Since then, he has worked for virtually every major publisher and compiled a long list of credits, including stints on Thor for Marvel, Green Lantern and Superboy for DC, Star Wars for Dark Horse, and the historic Marvel vs. DC crossover. He co-created the Green Lantern Kyle Rayner during his landmark run on the title.

His latest title is Shinku with Zoop. Shinku was originally created by Ron and veteran artist Lee Moder. They produced 5 issues that were hailed as an action-horror masterpiece but unfortunately came to a stop. Lee Moder unfortunately past away in 2023 at the age of 53. Boxes of art and sketch books were left to Ron after Lee's passing. In those boxes was the art for issues 6 and 7 of Shinku. 2 years later Ron is releasing Shinku collected title which not only includes the 2 issues Lee had completed, but several other items of art.
