Leading off with Peter J. Tomasi and Francis Manapul’s time-displaced THE ROCKETFELLERS, about a family in witness protection, hiding out from the future in our dysfunctional present. Tomasi and Manapul previously worked together on Batman: The Merciless. Francis Manapul: “Peter and I want to take the readers on the ultimate family road trip, following THE ROCKETFELLERS epic journey from the future to the present where they'll face adversities that could bring them together or tear them apart. Being time displaced outsiders, we'll also have some fun with the family adjusting to our archaic world as well as elevate the scope of the threat they'll have to face together.” Set in the same family universe, HORNSBY & HALO from Tomasi and frequent collaborator, artist Peter Snejbjerg, follows Rose Hornsby and Zack Halo in a small town in Upstate New York. With nothing less than cosmic peace at stake, the two adolescents find themselves at the center of an epic family swap as demon daughter Rose and angel child Zack are made to swap families. What the hell could go wrong?

Peter J. Tomasi: “I'm so excited to be working on the Family Odysseys of books right now - and HORNSBY & HALO has been a blast to write. As I've done with Batman and Robin and Super-Sons, I love crafting stories about young characters going through life-changing adventures, and watching Peter Snjebjerg fill Rose and Zack with so much vibrancy and energy while wrestling with the good and evil nipping at their heels is amazing and we can't wait to share their stories!” GHOST MACHINE #1 is finally arriving in comic book shops this Wednesday, January 24, 2024! Max Fiumara joins the podcast this week and we had a blast walking through his journey into being a comic book artist and creator.

His love for comic books started at a young age and early on Max and his brother Sabastian knew they wanted to be professional comic book artist. The path was not easy and there were many challenges in Max's journey but today his unique style of art sets him apart in the industry.

He has worked on many titles both as a cover artist and sequential art for Marvel, DC Comics, and Image. His big break came on the title Four Eyes with Joe Kelly. It was at this moment Max felt at home in his own style.

Today he is the co-creator of one of the hottest titles with Dave McCaig and Rick Remender, The Sacrificers. An incredible story of family, religion, politics, love, and betrayal. If you are not reading The Sacrificers now is the time!

The trade for this title will be released soon! Visit www.imagecomics.com to find The Sacrificers and to learn more!

Hotep joins me to share all the amazing things he and the team at Black Lion and Cubs (BLC) is working on. There are two graphic novels and a motion manga (comic) series.

The BLC motion manga series are fully narrated and follow 2 unique storylines. BLC has produced 2 animated seasons, each season is animated by a different art team in a wonderful retro style. Both seasons are fully narrated and follow a totally different storyline.

The first is "In Valley of the Kings" in which the Black Lion and Cubs trek across the desert sands of ancient Egypt; through the Valley of the Kings on a mission to find the missing Queen of Nubia, Isis.

The second is "In The Sands of Time", in which the Black Lion and Cubs must teleport to remote locations around the known universe in a race against time to collect rare ingredients for an elixir to save the life of Upper Pharaoh King Ramses.

You can watch these now at https://www.blackeducationstation.com/browse

Besides the anime cartoon and manga comic series, we have also produced 3 video games for Black Lion and Cubs. Like the anime and manga, the video games sport retro-styled play, music and graphics reminiscent of the original Nintendo games of the 1980’s.

The games compliment the storylines and themes of the cartoon series. To learn more visit https://www.blacklionandcubs.com/
