There is a strange coincidental connection between the two electric vehicle terror attacks today -- they were both rented through the car-sharing company Turo. 
The company which was founded by Andre Haddad in 2009 has been relatively unknown until the COVID era when it seems have gotten a real footing as automobile rental prices spiked. 

Turo claims it only allows "trusted hosts" to participate in tis service and time will tell if any changes are made to its policies.

FBI released updates in the NOLA NYE terror attack:
Driver of truck likely had help -- video shows other people placing IEDs in trash cans in French Quarter. Fire at AirBnB nearby was likely base of operations for group.
Remote detonation capability of IED's in driver's truck supports multiple attackers theory. 
Bollards on Bourbon Street were under repair/malfunctioning explaining why they were down. 
Be On the Lookout (BOLO) appears to be in effect for suspects who remain at large.

Why did the NYE NOLA attacker do it? Reportedly he was a Texas native, former Army Reservist with a career in real estate -- why throw it all away to attack innocent people in the country he swore to protect just a few years ago? Why use an expensive rented electric F150? Did he have an ISIS flag with him? Why were there conflicting reports about whether the event was being investigated as an act of terrorism? Why weren't the metal bollards on Bourbon Street raised for the celebration? There are a lot of questions at this early stage of the case that a lot of people are going want answers to.
