When Blue Peter production moved from Television Centre to Manchester, it was agreed the garden would be moved to a public space outside their new home in Salford Quay. The garden which took Percy Thrower three months and eight men to build, Chris Collins and his team rebuilt in nine days. Chris told Ken Crowther about the move.

Switzerland’s largest indoor garden show finished in March, however, if you missed it don’t worry. Garden designer and horticulturalist Hester Macdonald went along to take a look at the show gardens and see some of the trends to look out for 2015.

Alton Garden Centre in Wickford is the largest in Essex covering 12 acres. Director Andy Bunker says plants are his passion, this year they are selling a lot of colour in the form of seasonal bedding. Andy told Ken Crowther which plants he thinks will be poplar this year.

Hill Farm Oils in Heveningham in Suffolk grow nearly 1000 acres of rapeseed, of which half are used in the production of the oils. Manager, Lawrence Fraune explained the production of the oil to Ken Crowther.

Head Gardener Stuart Wright has worked on the grounds of the Hoveton Hall Estate in Norfolk for the last 10 years. The walled gardens were looking good, but as he explained to Ken Crowther other parts of the garden need some improvements over the years.

The Fullers Mill garden can be found on the banks of the River Lark in Suffolk. Founder Bernard Tickner has spent over 50-years designing and creating the gardens. Now nearly 90-years-old, Bernard told Ken Crowther how it all began.

One of the most imported wines in the country is Pinot Grigio, however, for many its popularity is a mystery as John Greenwold from the Wine Boutique explained to Ken Crowther.

The rhubarb crop at Calcott Hall Farm in Brentwood is well ahead this year. The team have been able to pick for several weeks beating the local competition. Market gardener Andrew McTurk talked to Ken Crowther about the latest on the farm.
