In the centre of Zurich, just a few hundred metres from the station, is the Old Botanic Garden of the University of Zurich, or Alter Botanische Garten. Established in 1837, the garden sits on top of one of the old fortifications and gives a great view across the city, as well as being home to dozens of beautiful trees, a historic palm house and the superb Gessner Garten. Peter Enz, the Director of the University of Zurich Botanic Garden, takes us on a tour.
