New UN Human Rights chief Michelle Bachelet insisted that she would be a spokesperson for the voiceless – those who had suffered “centuries of prejudice and discrimination” - women, the peoples of the Global South and other discriminated and exploited groups, in her opening address to Member States of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

With thousands of new plants to be launched every year, it can be difficult to choose which ones to plant in your garden. Peter van Rijssen from Plantipp has a good eye for a good plant, and this year the team won several medals at the Dutch professional plant show Plantatium.
