Today Dario looks at Switzerland's fourth language - Romansh (other spellings are also applicable). There are between 30-60,000 speakers in canton Graubunden. Although it is classed as a Swiss official language, it's not on the same level as French, German or Italian.

In my travels all around Switzerland this summer, researching for a book, I've been able to visit some marvellous, magical gardens, and the garden in the Chateau de Gruyères is one of my favourites. The box-edged parterre is planted with a riot of colour, managing to be modern and lively as well as respecting the traditions of the garden too. On today's Swiss Up, Dario looks at the very traditional Landsgemeinde. Now only in cantons Glarus and Appenzell Innerrhodes, it's when the townspeople meet in the main square and make new laws. Women have only been able to participate in Appenzell since 1990 when the Supreme Court forced the canton to allow it.
