WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2025
- Very little change was noted around the world overnight
- Market influences from the weather are unlikely to be great enough to seriously change market mentality
- U.S. weather will include alternating periods of rain and sunshine along with seasonable temperatures with some cooler biased conditions in the north-central states in this first week of the outlook
- Second week U.S. weather may include a little less intensity and frequency in rainfall along with slightly warmer-biased temperatures
- Showers in Canada will be welcome in the Prairies, although resulting rainfall will continue much less than that desired to support long term crop improvements
- France and the lower Danube River Basin will be driest in Europe for the next ten days
- Warming is likely to return in Europe this weekend and next week, but the extreme heat of earlier this month will not likely return
- Western and northern Russia, Belarus, the Baltic States, western Ukraine and northeastern Europe will remain wetter biased for the next five days with northeastern Europe drying after that while rain continues farther to the east for about ten days
- East-central China is drying down once again, but crop moisture will be fine for a little while
- No changes in Australia, Argentina, Brazil or South Africa were noted
- Argentina's greatest rain for winter wheat areas in the west will be next week, although some showers are expected today and Friday

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 8, 2025
- Not many changes around the world overnight
- Dryness will continue a concern in western Europe for the next ten days with temperatures trending much warmer again late this week, during the weekend and on into early next week
- Mild to cool temperatures and periods of rain and drizzle are expected from the Alps through Poland to western parts of Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic States and some of the rain may be heavy at times
- Western and northern Russia will periodic rain during the next ten days to two weeks maintaining moisture abundance
- Eastern Ukraine, Russia’s Southern Region and western Kazakhstan are still expecting limited rainfall and warm temperatures favoring winter crop maturation and harvesting
- China’s weather will be dominated by frequent bouts of significant rain in the south that will be partially fueled by Tropical Storm Danas that will move inland through southern Zhejiang and eastern Fujian later today before moving through much of the far south of China
- Rainfall in the far south of China may range from 4.00 to 9.00 inches over the coming ten days with some areas near the Fujian/Zhejiang coast getting more than 12.00 inches
- A good mix of rain and sunshine is expected in other areas of China with east-central parts of the nation staying dry for the coming week
- India will stay wettest in the central, north and eastern parts of the nation while the south is drier than usual
- Australia rainfall will continue greatest near the southern coast leaving Queensland, northern New South Wales and interior parts of South Australia without much rain
- Argentina rainfall will be sufficient in the coming week to improve wheat establishment moisture from Cordoba and San Luis into western and central Buenos Aires
- Much of Brazil’s key crop areas will be dry through the next week before some rain returns to the south late next week
- Canada’s Prairies will not get large amounts of rain in the coming week, although some areas in southwestern Alberta will be favorably moist
- A small part of southeastern Manitoba will also get rain late this week and into the early weekend
- S. crop areas east of the Rocky Mountains will continue to get periodic rainfall during the next ten days with seasonable temperatures
- Central Texas flooding will continue, although lingering showers in the region will disrupt the cleanup efforts infrequently

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 7, 2025
- Flooding rain in central Texas was horrific in urban and some minor agricultural areas, but the impact on nationwide corn and sorghum production should be minimal
- Tropical Storm Chantal’s heavy rain had no serious impact on crops in the eastern Carolinas or Virginia
- No other tropical cyclones are expected to threaten North America for at least the next week with the tropics calming down
- Drought continues serious in parts of Canada’s Prairies and that is not likely to change in this coming week with hot temperatures likely in west today and in central and eastern areas during mid-week
- Some opportunity for rain will evolve next week, although southern and eastern Manitoba is most favored
- S. weather is expected to remain very well mixed with timely rain and seasonable temperatures east of the Rocky Mountains
- Drought will remain in the U.S. Pacific Northwest
- Monsoonal rain in Mexico will continue over the next ten days, but its intensity is expected to slacken a bit as the tropics quiet down for a while
- East-central and southeastern China is trending much drier and that will linger for another week before some partial relief is possible
- Central and eastern Inner Mongolia and China’s Northeast Provinces received welcome rain during the past few days maintaining good crop conditions for areas near and north of the Yellow River and throughout the northeast
- Too much rain is expected in central India over the next week to ten days resulting in some flooding and at least a little potential for replanting of some summer crops
- Central, northern and eastern India will remain wet biased through the next ten days while the interior west-central and south stay drier than usual
- Thailand sugarcane, corn and rice areas will experience another week of restricted rain before rain chances improve
- Central and northwestern Sumatra, Indonesia still needs greater rain along with a few areas in Peninsular Malaysia
- Too much rain may fall from the Alps through Poland to parts of the Baltic States over the next ten days; flooding is possible
- Western and southern France, the U.K. and lower Danube River Basin will continue anomalously dry through the next ten days
- Western Europe will begin heating up again late this week and the warmer than usual conditions will last into next week while expanding to the east
- Russia’s Southern Region, western Kazakhstan and eastern Ukraine will benefit greatly from dry biased weather supporting good winter crop maturation and harvest progress
- Southern Australia received timely rain during the weekend and more is expected in the south which may improve soil conditions for winter crop establishment when warmer weather arrives in the spring
- Rain is likely in western wheat areas of Argentina which should induce improved soil moisture for better crop establishment
- Western Luzon Island experienced some flooding rain during the weekend from Typhoon Danas and more heavy rain will fall this week
- Typhoon Danas also produced heavy rain in western Taiwan Sunday and will turn into southeastern China this week producing some heavy rain
- The typhoon is small and its impact on agriculture is not likely to be tremendous
