Marty lived a unique childhood surrounded by "the arts" from birth. He grew up listening to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Otis Redding, as well as his parents, both classically trained Persian singers and actors. Singing before he can remember and picking up guitar at age 12, he immediately began writing original instrumental songs and recording them by age 16.
