Playing together since 2014, Raksha Paksha is a duo producing an indie pop rock sound infused with jazz influence and all the intimacy and thoughtfulness of the singer-songwriter genre. Podcasting live from the recent past from the worst little Dogwater Studios! We’ve got Weapons of Mass Creation here for the third time (check out their 2012 and 2016 episodes!) and this time they’re here with BIG news! Press play to hear what’s new for the band and what they’re looking forward to in March!

Band bio: Weapons of Mass Creation, are four artists; Pan Pantoja, Joe Atack, Steven Sperber and Aric Shapiro. Each is an experienced artist and performer in their own right. The idea for the band began while Pan Pantoja and Joe Atack were working together in a play, the summer of 2009. Atack and Pantoja would jam before and after the shows to entertain the cast and crew.

Then in 2010 while working on another play, Pantoja and Atack decided it was time to get things rolling. After a couple of writing sessions, the duo joined the Spoken Views crew to perform in front of 2,000 people at the Knitting Factory in Reno, NV.

But something was missing. Then along came the amazing Abel Press on the drums followed soon after by Aric Shapiro on bass.

In 2012 WMC released their first studio album For Your Revolution to critical and fan acclaim.

WMC are known for their explosive live shows and for being part of the Potentialist Art Movement.

In 2014, Abel Press left WMC and Steven Sperber – former drummer for Digital Crutch – stepped in to complete the line up.

Our mission is to bring thought provoking music and words to the people, to try and change the way we all think about what’s going on around us, and to speak for those whose voices are ignored by society.
