Artificial intelligence is an increasingly popular tool among video game developers. Uses vary by company – from early story drafting to generative AI for production visuals.
That’s as job options are shrinking for creatives looking to join the video game industry. And those who do manage to get hired may not stay on for long. 11 percent of developers reported getting laid off last year, according to a survey by the Game Developers Conference.
But what came first: the decline in the workforce or the rise of artificial intelligence?
