Pradeep Sopory, who grew up in Kashmir, came to the UW-Madison for his graduate studies and volunteered at WORT.
He’s now a Professor of Communications at Wayne State University in Detroit but stays in touch with people back home and follows the news.
On World View he discusses the state of the India-Pakistan relationship and how those governments might react as well as what the horror and tensions that a terrorist attack means to the tourist industry, one of Kashmir’s most important sources of livelihood.
Note: We spoke to Professor Sopory on Saturday, May 3rd. Since then the situation has deteriorated. Check the news for the latest developments.
