Madison’s Room Tax Commission is the latest local government body grappling with a structural deficit. The commission is anticipating a 1.3 million dollar gap in its 2027 budget, according to projections from city finance leaders.
The options moving forward: commissioners can take action to raise revenue, lower expenses…or a combination of the two.
