In order to follow Jesus, we have to get out of the boat!

Today's service is a little different. Today we wanted to celebrate our Youth Ministry and introduce you to a few of our students and discuss the importance of intergenerational relationships.

Perhaps a time of suffering is a small price to pay for a greater faith in what Jesus can do!

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:12-13)

Mercy is the greatest gift you can receive but it can be the most costly to give.

If all Jesus could ever offer you was salvation, would that be enough?

Following Jesus doesn't mean following only when it's convenient.

Today we celebrate Vacation Bible School!

Our vision as a church is to 'Follow Jesus Together' and part of that is teaching our littlest one's about God and His great love for them. Vacation Bible School has always been a huge part of that effort as we have always opened our doors to the community and welcomed every child to attend all week for free.

This year, COVID-19 forced us to dramatically change our plans as we couldn't safely host VBS for 1,200+ kids and 500+ volunteers. So... we redesigned the program and encouraged families to do a three-day Backyard VBS!

Today we celebrate the success of our volunteer families who adapted to the change of format for VBS and hosted Vacation Bible School in their backyards for their children, relatives and/or neighbors. Thank you!

If we're not helping the next generation to come to know Jesus, then we are hindering the next generation from coming to know Jesus.

Where is your treasure?

Be careful! As Jesus says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Today we regather in the Worship Center for the first time since March 8. If you don't feel comfortable about joining us for in-person worship today, no worries! We will be livestreaming all three services!

Senior Minister, Jay Scott, will lead us through Matthew 5:33-37 this morning. Jesus has a lot to say about keeping our word and the importance of oaths. All of us are guilty of saying one thing and doing another. It's a problem with all of humanity. Jesus tells us to "simply let your 'yes' be 'yes' and your 'no' be 'no.'"

As John agrees to baptize Jesus, there are two words that we want to look at: baptism and righteousness.

Baptism (or Baptizo): to dip or sink
Righteousness: Right relationship with God

Baptism is about relationship, not religion.
