One way to deal with self-doubt is to puff out your chest and put an an act like you are a big deal, but this is not a long term strategy. When you are trying to convince yourself or others of something that isn't true you end up being burdened with a secret that you are desperate to keep hidden. You end up feeling alone in the world because your truest self is hidden. Sharing it, being vulnerable, becomes an unaccessible option because doing so would leave you exposed and at risk of losing what you built up in your life. So maybe there is another approach.
