Psalm Sunday to Easter Sunday is the most significant week in the Christian Year. But, in our modern culture the weight of this week often gets lost in everyday business and holiday obligation. On Woven this week, we discuss the significance of Holy Week and ways we can lean into the heaviness and the gravity of the events that took place the last week of Jesus' life.

We live in a culture that values authenticity and vulnerability, which is wonderful, but what do we do when we start to feel stuck in our mess. How can we move from a victim mentality to breakthrough? How can we live authentic yet free lives? This week we have the pleasure of talking to Jennifer Watson about these very topics and her new book, Freedom: The Gutsy Pursuit of Breakthrough and the Life Beyond It.
Jennifer is in full-time church ministry, blogs regularly at www.jenniferreneewatson.com and co-hosts the More Than Small Talk Podcast with Holly Gerth and Suzie Eller.

It's Lent and while we at Woven are big fans of the season, we also recognize that it's easy to get legalistic with our faith during seasons such as these. On today's episode, we talk with Kendra Fletcher, author of Lost and Found: Losing Religion, Finding Grace and Leaving Legalism: Learning to Love God, Others, and Yourself Again, about her family's story of leaving a legalistic religious community, grace and finding freedom. May the rituals of the season draw us closer to the grace of God and away from our desire to check all the right religious boxes. To learn more about Kendra, her books and her ministry head over to www.kendrafletcher.com.
This week marks the beginning of the 2019 Lenten Season. Listen in for a little history lesson about Lent and what the Rebeccas are planning to do to prepare their hearts for Easter this year.

Continuing in our "Fun Stuff" series, this week we talk "Play" with Dr. Angela Schaffner. We discuss the importance of play, barriers to play and practical ideas on how to play even as adults. Angela also just released her first book, "Revealed: What The Bible Can Teach You About Yourself". As a part of this series and in celebration of Angela's book release, we are extending a "Play" Challenge to ourselves and our listeners. Over the next month (finishing up March 19), take pictures of yourself playing in someway and post them to social media using #playrevealed. This week we start a 3-part series on "Fun Stuff". For our first episode in the series, we invited Ryan Rumpel to talk with us about women and their hair. Our discussion goes from the existential to the very practical. We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we liked having it. For those in the Atlanta area, Ryan is a stylist at Expressions Hair Studio on the Upper West Side.
