Continuing in our "Four" Keeps of Mothering series, we talk with the women from the Mom Wants More podcast, Alana Dawson and Amber Salhus about how we can invest in our creative pursuits while "moming". We discuss barriers to being creative, misnomers about what it means to be creative, small steps to take to flex your creative muscle, why being creative is important to our well-being, and so much more.
Alana and Amber do this topic so much justice on a weekly basis on their podcast, Mom Wants More. To learn more, visit The Mom Wants More Podcast

That would be Christie Cuthbert, in a nutshell. An award winning journalist, Christie is in the process of finishing her first book, "Mom! I Farted in Church: A Type A Mama's Journey Learning to Laugh." She also writes for Today Parents, Scary Mommy, Alamo City Moms Blog and San Antonio Woman's Magazine. This week we start a new series entitled The "Four" Keeps of Mothering. Our four "keeps" are Keep Relating, Keep Laughing, Keep Creating and Keep Caring. To help us kick off this series with Keep Relating, we talk with Jen Babakhan. Jen is the author of Detoured: The Messy, Grace-Filled Journey from Working Professional to Stay-at-Home Mom.
One of the hardest parts of becoming a parent, whether you stay-at-home or work, is learning how to navigate community and finding your "people". We all know we need to keep relating with others even in the midst of the chaos of parenting, but it's not easy. Hopefully, after listening to our discussion with Jen, you will feel more empowered to seek out community whatever that looks like to you. We aren't meant to do this life alone.

Occasionally on Woven, we like to explore topics that are often misunderstood or taboo within the Christian world. Our goal is to help dispel myths, push passed fears and have a thoughtful conversation about these topics. This week we're talking about the practice of yoga. Christine Cown, a certified Holy Yoga instructor, joins us to discuss the history of the practice, why Christians don't need to be scared of yoga and how we can practice Christ-centered yoga. We also explore the topic of experiential worship and how to move from worship that is only in our mind to worship that involves all of us- mind, body, emotions, spirit, etc.

This week, to round out our Spiritual Practices series, we discuss the Lectio Divina. Joining us to discuss the history of this historical practice of Bible reading is Summer Gross. Summer can be found at www.athirstforgod.com and her podcast is called The Presence Project.
As we've done the last few weeks, we will release 2 episodes this week, this one that will serve as an introduction to the practice and a second one where Summer leads us through a Lectio. Our prayer is that you will use the second episode as a resource to listen to over and over again.
