David Hinds, the legendary founder and frontman of the legendary Steel Pulse Reggae Band speaks with Garnett Ankle. Hinds begins the conversation hoping for the full recovery to health for Frederick "Toots" Hibbert, frontman and founder of Toot & The Maytals. This conversation was recorded while Toots was ailing in hospital. Unfortunately, Toots passed away, and the music world is very, very sad about it. Before this conversation was broadcast, Garnett asked Hinds to return with his reflections on the passing of this musical giant.
Hinds speaks of his latest album, MASS MANIPULATION and the reasons behind penning the lyrics in the songs on the album. The lyrics in the songs on the album is akin to writing a chapter in a contemporary Black history book. Hinds is an outstanding student of Black history.
The political climate and COVID-19 in the United States are also discussed. Listen and enjoy a thought provoking discussion. It may haunt your conscience if you are on the wrong side of history.
