When his high school coach talked him out of the going to the army, Shannon became an undeniable talent at Savannah State. Greg speaks with Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome, one of the most successful people both on the field and in the front office. Greg learns about Ozzie’s mind-set when his elementary school in Alabama was integrated and how his relationship with the great Bear Bryant changed his life. Ozzie talks about his transition to tight end in Cleveland, working with a young Bill Belichick and how his first office in Baltimore was a police barrack. Kind, soft spoken and wildly magnetic, Ozzie Newsome perfectly synthesizes how America could be better off if we supported our fellow citizens like teams do in an NFL locker room.

They weave through his time with the Bears, his lost years with the Eagles and how “a man named Landry” brought him down to Dallas and changed the course of his life.
