Today I have a great conversation with Marc who was truly known by my whole circle as the best at what he does. His natural ability to sell and tell stories made him the face of our backyard wrestling group, which eventually would pave the way for both of us to team up and start training to become a professional wrestler. We share some stories on our discovery of wrestling but also the journey we took to eventually debut in front of a live audience. Although we were young, it’s safe to say we were fearless at what we did. Marc played a massive role in my early years and ultimately inspired me to improve my own skills to be a better wrestler. It’s always great to take a trip down memory lane looking at our wrestling journey from start to finish and the respect we have for our coach who gave us the opportunity to experience a greater success.

One of my favorite conversations with a friend that not only lives (like myself) in Dubai, but is truly a homegrown star that is born and raised here. We had a talk about what it was like discovering wrestling in the Middle East, the house shows WWF/WWE has done on this side of the world and how this passion led him to creating the first and only platform in the UAE and Gulf region where wrestling fans can train to become stars, ultimately having the opportunity to learn the ropes and perform in front of their families. We look at the history of DPW and the journey that they have had since it’s early days in 2015 using a boxing ring all the way to doing 2 day shows in front of growing crowds who have become loyal fans. The future is bright for Dubai Pro Wrestling and this is just the start of the evolving wrestling scene in the GCC / Middle East!

In honor of backyard wrestling, I am joined by one of the most successful backyard wrestlers of his era. 

I first met Dude Hate in 2006 when he cut a promo on me, I was a kid wrestling at weekly backyard wrestling shows ran by my friend. In a time where technology was still young and we were the first to use Myspace and YouTube, Dude Hate was truly an icon in hardcore matches.

After having a fantastic 10 years with their shows under HRA (Hardcore Rasslin Action), Dude Hate went on to have a successful first run as a professional wrestler in Florida.

We catch up and talk about the beginning days of his passion for wrestling and also future plans to come back and be better than ever.

Are Empty Arena Show's the permanent future? That's a question that sprung to mind today when I was thinking about an incredible match between Sting and Kurt Angle at TNA in 2011. Once everything goes back to normal, might this continue to be done?

One thing that's for certain is that we need fans for live events and house shows, as they are truly the heart and soul of each match.

But as time progresses, more and more storylines could be told using the cinematic movie style filming - live OR pre taped.
