Wrestling Around

We finally made it, it's the worst PPV of all time! Or is it? Well, yes, it is, but how bad is bad? Well, it's an ECW PPV with a disconcerting lack of weapon shots, lack of Sabu and A LOT of show favourite Bob Holly. Also, what happened to Bob Sapp?

Sixty men! Three rings! One... unholy giant mess? One month after Hulk Hogan accidentally killed The Giant before then getting disqualified against the very same Giant and then getting bearhugged by a Yetay, we reach World War 3! It's widely seen as WCW's answer to the Royal Rumble, but does it stack up? Nope.

It's Survivor Series! It's Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart! It's... 1992? Yep, five years before the infamous Montreal Screwjob, Bret Hart defended his WWF Championship against Shawn Michaels in what is widely regarded to be their best match together (or so Ross tells us), further down the card we see a "traditional" Survivor Series match and the PPV debut of Yokozuna. All presented from the Wrestling Around ThunderDome!

It's a deadly game... is it also Vince Russo's finest hour? We head back to Survivor Series 1998 as the vacant WWF Championship is on the line in a 14 man tournament. Vince McMahon is determined to stop Stone Cold Steve Austim and The Rock from winning the title, but is there a twist coming? Well yes, we put it in the thumbnail...

Wrestling Around goes "extreme" again, as we take a look back to ECW's November to Remember '99! This was Taz's last PPV as an ECW wrestler before he left for New York, as he goes up against RVD for the TV title. Elsewhere on the card, Mike Awesome defends his ECW Championship against Masato Tanaka and we see one of the first instance of the "ECW Originals"!

Monster Trucks! THE YETAY! Hulk Hogan without a moustache? You can find all these and more at WCW Halloween Havoc '95! Is this a good show? Objectively no. Is this a good show to do a podcast about? Well Lew and Terry Goose have differing answers...

With thanks to the inventor of women's wrestling, Stephanie McMahon, it's WWE Evolution! It's WWE's first ever all women's PPV headlined by Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella, but the real story is on the undercard, as Becky Lynch takes on Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match, potentially the greatest women's match in WWE history. Plus, a WCW legend drops by to say happy birthday to Terry Peters!

We go back to WWE Taboo Tuesday '04, where the fans are in charge! Fans get to vote on such options as Triple H's opponent for the World Heavyweight Championship, the stipulation between Ric Flair and Randy Orton, and err, what the divas wear in their "fulfil your fantasy" battle royal, but do the Wrestling Aroundheads' votes match those of the 2004 WWE audience? Not quite...

We head back to TNA, but has it improved since it's first ever PPV? Well yes, obviously. TNA is in flux at the moment, with a lot of "TNA Originals" further down the card, and an influx of new stars, and Aces & 8s, at the top of the card, a fact the Wrestling Around crew can't seem to agree on...
