Penn State wrestling is off and running with the February portion of its schedule. The Nittany Lions have their first double dual weekend of the season on the horizon. Michigan battles head coach Cael Sanderson's team at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday (6 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network) before Maryland invades Rec Hall at 1 p.m. ET on B1G+.
“It’s unusual, as we talked about throughout the year, just the scheduling where we got Friday, Friday, Friday, and now we have a Friday, Sunday,” Sanderson said Monday. “But I think these weekends are really good training for the national tournament conference where you have a multiple-day tournament. So, we look at it all as training. And obviously, Michigan’s one of the top programs in the country. So we’re looking forward to that match, another match in the Jordan Center, and then being able to kind of turn around and wrestle Maryland, who’s wrestling really well. I mean, they’ve done a really good job there, and they’ve been very competitive.”
We cover those matches and much more on this week's Blue-White Illustrated Penn State wrestling show. Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start the conversation with the latest news from the recruiting world. The nation's top Class of 2026 recruit, Bo Bassett, picked Iowa over the Nittany Lions and others on Tuesday night.
