As artists, we release singles, EPs, and albums. Releasing an EP is different from the others in many ways, and these projects have so many creative benefits. I’m beyond excited to welcome Allison Leah back to the show to chat all about EPs. Allison is about to drop her new EP, The Weight of My Heart, and I’m getting ready to share mine, It Is What It Is, so this is a perfect time for us to have this conversation.
The quote for this episode is by Isaac Bashevis Singer: “The greatness of art is not to find what is common but what is unique.” Allison and I have such a fantastic conversation about what it’s like creating an EP. We talk about the benefits of releasing an EP, choosing a title for the project, selecting the songs for the tracklist, experimenting with genres and styles, and so much more. Our conversation is honest and full of stories, lessons, advice, and inspiration. I truly hope you enjoy it.
