Award-winning author Mathew Tekulsky joins Writers Talk to talk about his journey from nature writing to fiction and film. 

He's an award-winning and best-selling author, screenwriter, photographer, and nature writer whose work spans fiction, nonfiction, and film. A native of Larchmont, New York, he earned a B.A. in History with a minor in English from the University of Rochester, and he lives in Santa Monica, California.

His novels include The Chestnut Tree; Saving Annie, a Feathered Quill Book Awards Gold Winner in Adult Fiction and an American Book Fest Best Book Awards finalist; and Bernie and the Hermit, a finalist in the William Faulkner–William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. His first novel, The Martin Luther King Mitzvah (Fitzroy Books, 2018), received the LitPick Top Choice book review award.
