Evan Wilkes of St. Joseph high school wrestling is out WSJM Sports player of the week.

Evan is a senior at St. Joe and has a 3.5 grade point average.

At the Division 2 team districts. Evan went 2-0 on the day at 132, winning his semifinal match against Edwardsburg, by pin in :21 seconds, and in the final match against Lakeshore, with the Bears needing a pin in the last match of the day to win the final, pinned former state champion Brady Baker of Lakeshore to give the Bears a 31-30 win in the team final.

Evan is the starting nose guard on the St. Joe football team.
