• After beating LA in the first of two playoff rematches from last season, the Lions fall to Tampa Bay 20-16 at Ford Field to fall to 1-1 on the season.  
• The Bears also fall to 1-1 after Caleb Williams is sacked 7 times in a 19-13 loss at Houston.
• The Colts fall to 0-2 after a 16-10 loss at Green Bay.
• The Detroit Tigers take 2 of 3 with Baltimore after Riley Greene hits two home runs in a 4-2 win.  The Tigers head to Kansas City tonight at 7:40, a 7:15 pregame on WSJM.
• The White Sox win back to back games and a series in nearly three months after a 4-3 win over Oakland.  Sox are at the Angels tonight at 9;40.
• The Cubs beat Colorado 6-2,  The Cubs return home to face Oakland at 7:40 at Wrigley.
• WNBA on Sunday, Caitlin Clark scores a career high 35 in Indiana's 110-109 win over Dallas.  Phoenix over Chicago 93-88.

Our first WSJM Sports player of the week for the 2024 season is Landon Rogers of River Valley High School Cross Country.

Landon is just starting his junior year at River Valley.  So far, Landon came in 5th place at the Berrien Springs Shamrock Invitational with a time of 16:49.3.   Then five days later Landon took first place at the Fennville Invitational with a time of 17:02.6.  Landon came in 3rd place last year but this year he won by 36 seconds.  Landon has multiple conference, state and academic all state awards over his first two seasons.   He’s also a member of the Mustangs basketball team. In the classroom he carries a 3.8 GPA.
