• WSPA Comments on the Upper Payment Limit Proposed Rule The state's Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) has issued proposed rules for an Upper Payment Limit. WSPA voiced significant concerns for the impact these rules will have on pharmacy practice and patient access. 
• WSPA Friend of the Court Brief regarding relocating a PBM Lawsuit Case to out of our state WSPA contends that the suit challenges WA PBM laws, and therefore should stay within our state. 
• Washington Student Achievement  Council Mylinh Nguyen represents pharmacy practice in the council. This group helps with workforce development and distributing student loan repayment funds.
• Scope Bill WSPA meeting with WSMA members and legislators in preparation for the 2027 session and our scope bill. 
• WSPA Board Member Meeting with CMS Dr. Jenny Bacci joined APhA CEO Michael Hogue and others to discuss how CMS can support pharmacy practice without legislative changes.

• PQAC Business Meeting Updates - WSPA staff will recap the last PQAC Business Meeting key points. Members have reported licensing delays in individuals with incomplete applications. If one of your staff is experiencing a license delay call 360-236-4986 and ask about specific issues with the application. Once applications are complete they are being processed in about 7 days. 
• Alliance for Patient Medication Safety - Tara Modisett, Executive Director will present their tool for error tracking PQC+ and how it can support a culture of safety in pharmacies.

• Within Reach - This long time WSPA partner provides access to social services for families, and is an essential provider of Immunization information, advocacy and resources for providers in Washington. They will present their projects and resources. 
• Measles Outbreak and Resources - Unfortunately the cases of measles in Washington continue to rise. WSPA has created a measles handout with vaccine information in one place, and a resource page for pharmacy professionals. 
• PQAC Updates - New CR-101 Rulemaking filed for CDTAs and Pharmacy Sales filed, New PQAC Members. Congratulations Carrie Stephens and Daiana Huyen and two public members. 
• Workplace Standards - PQAC has asked for WSPA member feedback about workplace standards. WSPA is seeking members for the Workplace Standards Taskforce to provide feedback to the commission.

Agenda:

• Pharmacy Schools Update Dean Julie Akers from Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Dr. Ryan Hanson, Chair of the Pharmacy Department at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy will provide program updates and priorities. 
• Invasive HIB Outbreak - Alaska, Oregon and Washington have seen cases of invasive HIB in adults experiencing homelessness, drug use or smoking. MMWR and EpiTrends. WSPA Staff are members of the state workgroup to evaluate vaccination and outreach options.  
• Cyclosporiasis Outbreak - This parasite is best treated with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, and is not (yet?) a cause for concern in Washington. 
• Medicaid increases morphine equivalent threshold to 200 MME for certain diagnoses including hospice, palliative care and end of life starting 8//1. Pharmacies may still need to call managed Medicaid programs for expedited authorizations as they update their systems.
