Welcome back everyone! Today I have a guest appearance for your listening pleasure. I sat down with friends over on the WTF Forum to discuss the phenomenon of "ceiling birds". This topic is often considered to be a fringe and controversial conspiracy theory, myth or stereotype when it comes to African American communities.
But as we all know there is always an element of truth when in comes to such things. This was more a deep dive and long form discussion about the historical, cultural and sociopolitical impacts on African American culture and maybe just maybe "ceiling birds" may just have something to do with it.
African American culture and history is incredibly nuanced and complex. The intention of today's show is to turn a silly little internet theory or stereotype into a genuine conversation about the history of the United States and how African Americans form an integral part of that history. We went on to hypothesise about the possible explanations for the odd pattern based on history, psychology and cultural schisms.
(Original air date 26/1/25)
I joined Mike from the Easy Peasy Podcast, Bear Snare from the My Friends Hate Freedom Podcast and Phytophiliac. This was a wide reaching conversation about the civil rights movement, strong family units, culture, economics and so much more.
