Welcome back to another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. I have another gem from the archive, a flashback episode 2.0 if you will. 

This is still one of the best free flowing conversations I have had since undertaking this wild podcast adventure. This is something not released on my feed until now!

This week Bob, Kaylee and Drew reunite for an XL episode to reflect on the current state of a world most people can't make heads or tails of. Evoking a grab bag of the madness, the trio discusses mass confusion, medical industrial complex, spirituality, hollywood propaganda, all while asking the questions "What If?".

ConspiracyTheatre 3000 is back with another commentary episode. That's right the guys got together to watch the 1981 animated cult classic Heavy Metal. This one is a childhood classic of Bob's and a regular on Ryan's rotation. Ashamedly enough this is one Drew has not seen until today! This is a great hangout and banter episode between the guys.

(Don't forget you can always listen along as you watch Heavy Metal at home). 

Heavy Metal is a 1981 adult animation, sci-fi fantasy film divided into a series of animated vignettes dealing with science fiction themes. All the stories are connected by a green glowing orb (The Loc-Nar) meant to represent "the sum of all evils", which is first seen floating through space before the movie's title appears.

It begins with an astronaut that brings home a glowing green orb for his daughter. However, the green orb wipes him out and corners the girl for its purposes. Claiming to embody ultimate evil, the malevolent sphere, known as the Loc-Nar, terrorizes the little girl by showing a series of bizarre and fantastic stories it has influenced.

The first is "Harry Canyon", a cynical taxi driver in a squalid futuristic New York who finds himself involved with a damsel in distress who is relentlessly pursued by murderous thugs who desire the Loc-Nar her archaeologist father found.

The second is "Den", which chronicles the adventures of a nerdish teenager who is thrown into the fantasy world of Neverwhere, where he is transformed into a handsome muscleman, desired by beautiful women, who must get involved in a conflict revolving around possession of the Loc-Nar.

The third is "Captain Sternn", where the title character is a handsome but irredeemable scoundrel who stands accused in a trial that the Loc-Nar throws into chaos.

The fourth is "B-17", where a World War II bomber plane limps home after a bombing run, only to have the Loc-Nar ram into it and revive the dead crew members as murderous zombies. The next is "So Beautiful, So Dangerous", where a voluptuous secretary at the Pentagon is abducted by stoned alien wastrels and an oversexed robot.

The final story is "Taarna", where the Loc-Nar has to come to a future Earth and changes a peaceful people into a horde of murderous barbarians who rampage with genocidal zeal. Only the last Tarrakian, a silent warrior woman known as Taarna, can avenge the victims and stop the Loc-Nar.

The driving force behind this film is a classic tale good overcoming evil. Driven by its toughness and nihilistic nature, this animated feature is off on its own track, combining science fiction, mysticism, sex, violence and rock music. Much of the time, these elements do what the film makers want them to, and make for a heady mix.

Welcome back everyone! Today I have an extra special flashback episode for you all. We travel back in time to 2022 when I was a guest on good friend of the show Moral Bobs podcast Hidden in Plain Sight. This has never been released on my feed until now!

Conspiracy Theatre 3000 is back! In light of the attempted assassination of ex-President Donald Trump we thought it was high time we delved into a political conspiracy film. 

In the Line of Fire is a 1993 conspiracy, political thriller directed by Wolfgang Petersen. It tells the story of veteran Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan (played by Clint Eastwood) a man haunted by his failure to save President John. F Kennedy while serving protection detail in Dallas, Texas. Thirty years later, a man calling himself "Booth" (played by John Malkovich) threatens the life of the current President forcing Horrigan to come back to protection detail to confront the ghosts from his past. 

The film delves into the shady background dealings of intelligence agencies such as the CIA, their own trained assassins and the 'what if' scenario of one of their own going after the President of the United States. The film draws on heavy themes of bravery, heroism and all through the lens of the boomer generations unwavering patriotism. This was a fantastic film back in it's day, but now can be viewed very differently. If you haven't seen this film in a long while go back and watch it today. Job 41:21 - "It's breath sets coals ablaze, and flames dart from its mouth".

There isn't a creature more fantastic than that of the dragon. It's very name evokes imagery of four legged, bat-like winged creatures that breath fire. No other creature has haunted the imagination of mankind and driven fear into the hearts of ancient man like the dragon. But is this creature purely a figment of our imaginations?
