In this raw, real, and riotously honest episode, I take you on a deeply personal ride through the five messy stages of grief—Maria style. I open up about losing my dad in 2021, how Spirit ignored my request not to show me death was coming, and the moment Archangel Azrael showed up in all their divine non-binary glory. I also share what it felt like to literally see my ancestors gather behind my dad's hospital bed and how I held space as a medium, daughter, and human all at once.
But don’t worry—it’s not all heavy. Leave it to me (and my newly crossed-over father) to bring the laughs. You’ll hear the hilarious moment my dad popped in while I was on the toilet—because yes, spirits have no chill. May 06, 2025 WTF Spirit - Being Authentically You
In this episode, I get real about what it means to be your authentic self, and I dive deep into the family trauma that gets passed down through generations. Growing up with parents who didn’t know themselves, I learned that trauma just keeps repeating itself unless we actively break the cycle.
I share my personal journey of feeling abandoned by my dad and how, before he passed, I finally got the peace I needed when he opened up about why he stayed away. It wasn’t easy, but it helped me understand the generational wounds he carried.
I also talk about how we choose the families we’re born into, and how healing starts with looking at all those pieces that made us who we are—what came from mom, dad, and even from their parents. If you’ve ever wondered why certain patterns keep showing up in your life, chances are, you’re the one who’s meant to heal them. It’s not easy, but it’s part of what we signed up for in this lifetime.
This episode is a powerful reminder that healing your family’s karma means being true to yourself and forgiving those who came before you.

In this continuing series of my friend Jacob and I having random conversations, we discuss oracle cards by Alaina Fairchild, witchcraft and ghost experiences.
Oracle cards are a beautiful way to connect with spirit and receive a message from your guides every day. Purchasing a few decks with different themes, helps for spirit to have different subjects to communicate with you about.
Almost everyone I know has practiced "witchcraft" at some point in their life and Jake and I discuss that.
And last but not least, Jake shares some interesting ghost experiences with us!

I sat down on a Friday evening with my good friend Jacob Sams aka Jackie O from Rubi Girls and we chose to take our medical marijuana and talk about spirituality while under the influence. There will be a few episodes shared from that conversation.
In this episode, we discuss where your soul goes when you black out, but you have no memory of what happened. It was a very random conversation which will make you laugh and provides you with some food for thought.
I added some after thoughts to this episode, sans THC, discussing why THC should be federally legal, how I used to have the opposite opinion and why pharmaceutical companies aren't interested in THC being federally legal.

August 10, 2023 WTF Spirit? with Jacob Sams - Drag and Spirituality!
In this episode of WTF Spirit? I sat down with Jacob Sams who is currently Miss Gay Dayton and will be turning over the reigns to the new Miss Gay Dayton on August 12th.

Jacob has been in the Dayton, Ohio Area for most of his life! He is a hairdresser at Square One Salon (book with him here) and a RubiGirl! (He is the mastermind behind my hairstyle!) He started down a spiritual path at birth, having been brought up in the church with his Mamaw. Although he no longer identifies with that religion any longer he would never discredit what lead him to spirit for the first time. He has studied a WIDE variety of topics to cultivate his own way of doing things.

Jacob and I discussed how he views his Drag appearances as part of his spirituality in being able to own who he is as a person and step onto the stage showing others you, too, can be yourself even amongst the doubters.

I am honored and blessed to call him friend and co-student in the Oracular Apprenticeship course with Julian Crosson-Hill at Temple of the Rebel Goddess.
