U.S. Senate candidate Jane Timken (R)
Timken, the former chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, is running for the US Senate seat being vacated by Republican Rob Portman. Timkin is a native of Cincinnati, currently living in Stark County, and is a mother of two and married to husband Tim. Allied with former President Donald Trump, Timken touts her party chairmanships as on that "transformed the Party into a well-oiled machine that won conservative victories and advanced an America First agenda at every level – and delivered a second victory for President Trump in our state."
Other Republicans with their hats in the ring for the primary are businessman Mike Gibbons, author J.D. Vance ("Hillbilly Elegy"), former Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, Ohio Sen. Matt Dolan and Dayton-area Congressman Mike Turner. For the Democrats, northeast Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan is the declared candidate. The primary will occur on May 3, 2022. The general election will occur on November 8, 2022.
