Stefanie Arbutina is the Director of Vulnerable Youth Policy at Children First, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that improves the lives and opportunities of children in southeastern Pennsylvania. Through thoughtful and informed advocacy, community education, targeted service projects, and budget analysis, Children First watches out and speaks out for children and families.

She joined Dr. Peterson to discuss the ankle monitoring of Philadelphia kids in the juvenile justice system and early intervention in the child welfare system, two bills that were scheduled to pass on February 4th.

Chris Norwood joined Dr. Peterson for this week's Critical Commentary segment to discuss Fulton County suing after the FBI seizing 2020 election records, the government shutdown coming to an end, and the ICE agents.

Dr. Andrea McKee is the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Mass General Brigham Cancer Center at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, and Chair Emeritus at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC). She received her medical degree from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her residency in radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as chief resident.

Donnita Butler is a DMV resident who is a survivor of Stage 1A2 non-small cell lung cancer. She now champions early lung cancer screening and biomarker testing for Veterans and others at risk. When Donnita learned that her health insurance covered lung cancer screening, she advocated for herself even when her first doctor pushed back. Five years later, a routine low-dose CT scan detected a nodule that was later confirmed as Stage 1A2 adenocarcinoma. Her lymph nodes were clear, and early detection saved her life.

They both join the show to talk about the importance of getting screened for Lung Cancer.
