Dr. Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz is an award-winning author, and Professor of English Education at Teachers College at Columbia University. She specializes in racial literacy, culturally responsive education, diversity, equity and business in education.

She joined Dr. Peterson for this week's Tuesday teach-in on Evening WURDs to discuss her humanizing research methods in the Arts & Humanities, and teaching English in Diverse Social & Culture Contexts classes at Columbia University.

Pat Dugan is a former Municipal Judge and is running as the Republican candidate in November’s election for District Attorney. He’s a certified master trainer, a licensed master barber, and the man behind The Fitman x Fademan Collective: a back-to-school initiative that teaches kids and teens how to prepare quick, nutritious breakfasts before class and offers professional, precise haircuts designed to boost confidence and self-image.

Eric joins the show to talk about the importance of eating healthy meals to start your day, and to further discuss his back-to-school initiative, “The Fitman x Fademan Collective.”

Dr. Gregory McMahon is a urologist is apart of the MidLantic Urology Medical Team. Dr. McMahon specializes in treating cancers of the genitourinary tract and is skilled in ablative technologies for prostate cancer. LaMont Walker is a prostate cancer survivor and passionate advocate for Black men over 40. LaMont was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2022. LaMont met with Dr. Gregory McMahon to talk about his treatment options. He chose a prostatectomy, which involves removing part or all of the prostate gland. Fifteen months after surgery, LaMont feels he has been given a second chance.

They both join the show to talk about the importance of men, especially Black men, getting screened for prostate cancer.

Dr. James Wright's research highlights how educational policy and education leadership discourses and practices contribute to a repressive school experience for minority students and their communities. His areas of specialization includes leadership in ethnic studies, achievement gap discourses in education, and inequities and injustices in K-12 school polities.

He was a past Tuesday teach-in guest on Evening WURDs and returned this week to discuss his new book "Critical Ethnic Studies & the Global Pursuit of Justice".

Colin Seeberger is the Senior Advisor for Communications at Center for American Progress. He held various roles in public affairs, and directed issue advocacy campaigns at Young Invincibles and in the press office of Senator Bob Casey, who is a Democrat from Pennsylvania.

He joined Dr. Peterson for this week's Center for American Progress segment on Evening WURDs to discuss how Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” is affecting Pennsylvania residents.

Journalist Adam Mahoney is the climate and environment reporter at Capital B News. He joined Dr. Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss gentrification and his recent coverage of 500 Black neighborhoods from major cities vanishing.

Bridget Romeo joins the show. She is an Author, singer and entrepreneur.

Dr. Denise M. Lowe joins the show. She is a visionary leader with over 20 years in public education she currently serves a superintendent in residence for the women of color education collaborative.
