Robin Wiessmann, CEO & Executive Director of Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), joins the show to talk about the CONVERGENCE House Party. Taking place during National Homeownership Month, this grassroots, citywide initiative spans four neighborhood events across Philadelphia. TaDarius Johnson is a dual-credit 11th grade U.S. History Teacher committed to preserving the power of Black memory, resistance and place. He's the founder of Build on Holy Ground, an oral history project that honors the voices of Black elders and sacred spaces across the south and creator of Pap-In-The-Trap, a platform that channels unapologetic truth-telling into education, media and movement work. Guided by the belief that “everyone is a historian of something,” Mr. Johnson’s work bridges past and present to equip future generations with legacy, language and liberation.

He joins Dr. Peterson for this week's Tuesday teach-in to discuss his 11th grade U.S. History course, the Gentleman's League and more.

Jordyn Jay is the founder and executive director of the BTFA (Black Trans Femmes in the Arts) Collective and the executive producer of BTFA Productions– a worldwide movement that seeks to produce and preserve the artistic innovations and creations of Black trans femmes and address systemic inequality through advocacy and action.

Jordyn joins the show to talk about the initiatives of the Black Trans Femmes in the Arts (BTFA) Collective, and to also shine a light on the activity taking place in the Black Trans Art Community!

Councilmember Rue Landau is a civil rights and housing attorney, a public school parent, and has worked as an attorney at Community Legal Services helping low-income renters in Philadelphia avoid illegal eviction from their affordable housing.

Councilmember Landau also served as the Director of the Fair Housing Commission, the city’s civil rights and housing enforcement agencies. During her 12-year tenure, Councilmember Landau transformed the agency into a national model for government and community engagement, social justice, and equitable opportunity.

She joined Dr. Peterson to talk about her recently passed Move-In Affordability Plan, and the city’s recently approved FY26 budget.

Senator Nikil Saval represents Pennsylvania’s First Senatorial District, which runs through the heart of Philadelphia. Senator Saval serves as Democratic Chair of the Senate’s Urban Affairs & Housing Committee, and leads the Senate’s Philadelphia Delegation.

He joins Dr. Peterson on Evening WURDs to to talk about SEPTA’s transit funding, the whole-home repairs program, and recent policy hearings regarding workers protections.

Hank Willis Thomas is an American visual artist. He joins Dr. Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss more about his work, the Johnson Publishing Company, and more.

Mac Muir, previously the Supervising Investigator at New York City’s Civilian Complaint Review Board, Executive Director of Oakland’s Community Police Review Agency, and author of the recently released book “COP COP: Breaking the Fixed System of American Policing.”

He joined Dr. Peterson to talk about his book, the connection to the 5th year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder, and give us a perspective of why little has changed since then and what needs to be done as an insider who worked in the system that is responsible for holding the police accountable.
