Assata Thomas is the Executive Director of the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Reentry Partnerships. As a passionate advocate for individuals affected by mass incarceration, she is a driving force in Philadelphia’s reentry movement.

She joins Dr. Peterson to discuss the many programs and initiatives that the Office of Reentry Partnerships has, including the 2nd Annual Reentry Job Fair and Resource Village on Wednesday, April 30th at Temple University.

Chantay Love is the Co-Founder & President of E.M.I.R Healing Center (Every Murder Is Real). She joined Dr. Peterson to discuss more about E.M.I.R Healing Center, a youth summit that her and Dr. Peterson attended, and how gun violence has impacted the youth.

Sara Manning is the Chief Operating Officer, and Gianna Brisbone is the Director of Education from Beyond Literacy. It's a leading literacy agency in Philadelphia that provides opportunities for adults and families by harnessing the power of literacy through free, high-quality education helping them improve their reading, writing, math, English language, digital literacy and workplace skills.

They joined Dr. Peterson to discuss literacy and the programs that Beyond Literacy has to offer.

Brittni Jennings and Kristin Kelly are the Co-Founders of Afromation Avenue - a public art project designed to preserve the cultural integrity of Black spaces in Philadelphia. In collaboration with local Black artists and community members, personalized positive affirmation street signs find permanent homes within the Philadelphia landscape through Afromation Avenue.

They joined Dr. Peterson to discuss more about Afromation Avenue's work and mission.

Isaac Avilucea is a reporter for Axios Philadelphia and a frequent contributor to the show, where he gives WURD listeners pertinent updates on trending news stories.

On this segment, Isaac talks about the low amount of Pennsylvanians obtaining a REAL ID. Only 26% of Pennsylvania driver's license and state ID holders have upgraded so far.

Denise joins the show to discuss what is at the top of Mayor Cherelle Parker's priority list, as it pertains to Philadelphia's 2025 budget.

Dr. Dalesa Rueda is a wellness educator, speaker, and the founder of Inspired and Free, a mental wellness brand offering community-based support for stress relief, mindset transformation, and emotional freedom.

Dr. Rueda joins the show to further discuss healthy ways people can cope with trauma and stress.

Dr. Lasé Ajayi is a San Diego-based pediatrician and American Medical Association Trustee. She is also a palliative care physician and a researcher. She is Secretary of the Board of the American Medical Association, and was the first black woman to be President of the San Diego County Medical Society.

She joins the show to speak on gun violence among teens in America, and she will also discuss the Ad Council’s “Agree to Agree” effort. The Agree to Agree effort is a campaign that aims to address the full spectrum of gun violence in the U.S., including gun suicides, intentional shootings and unintentional shootings.

Michael Colyar is an American actor, comedian, voiceover artist, television/radio personality, and author. Colyar is widely recognized for his role as the concert promoter "Showboat" in the 1994 film House Party 3. His filmography includes appearances in movies such as Hollywood Shuffle (1987), Poetic Justice (1993), Norbit (2007), and The Princess and the Frog (2009), where he voiced the character Buford the chef.

He joins the show to talk about a TV series he's apart of titled, "Highly Favored".
