Jane McManus is an author and journalist known for her work in both writing and storytelling, especially in the realms of sports, gender, and culture. Jane is the author of the book, “The Fast Track”: a book that further debunks the theory that “no one cares about women’s sports”, and examines the forces that have held women’s sports back since the early 1970s.

Jane joins the show to further talk about the context of her book, her motive for creating it, the stereotypes of women’s sports, and much more.

Monroe Civil Rights Award given by the Arlington, Virginia chapter of the NAACP; and certified Diversity, Equity and Inclusion professional through Cornell University. Ms. Rogers has launched anti-racism campaigns and teach-ins for a variety of global organizations, including The World Bank. She joined Dr. Peterson on Evening WURDs to discuss roles of individual activists, serving the Philadelphia community, and much more.

Patricia Wilson Aden is the President and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, which leads and strengthens the voices of the region’s diverse cultural ecosystem - including museums, community art centers, historical sites and more. She joined Dr. Peterson on Evening WURDs to share a new $3,000 grant opportunity for arts professionals in the Philadelphia region who suffered financial losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The application process ends March 21st, and is available for 150 individuals.

Latisha Thompson and Anonymous are two workers at the Department of Veterans Affairs and members of American Federation of Government Workers union. They joined Amadee Braxton on Solutions to discuss how mass firings of federal workers by DOGE impacts the veterans they serve and how they are fighting back.
