ACTOR KEVIN SORBO

Career

Began his career as a model in Europe, appearing in commercials for Budweiser, BMW, and Jim Beam. He is best known for his role as Hercules in the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1993-2000). He also starred in Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda (2000-2005) as Captain Dylan Hunt. 

 

Other work

Has appeared in films such as Kull the Conqueror (1997), What If... (2010), Soul Surfer (2011), and God's Not Dead (2014). He also voiced Hercules in the video game God of War: Ascension (2013). 

 

Directing

Made his directorial debut with the religious drama Let There Be Light (2017). He also directed Miracle in East Texas (2019) and Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist. 

 

Writing

Wrote the 2011 memoir True Strength: My Journey From Hercules to Mere Mortal and How Nearly Dying Saved My Life. He also wrote one of the stories for Chicken Soup for the Soul: Billy Graham & Me. 

 

Other endeavors

Is the spokesperson for A World Fit For Kids!, an organization that trains young people to become mentors for children in after-school programs. He also donated his royalties from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive for Kids to A World Fit for Kids!. 

 

Personal life

Married actress Sam Sorbo in 1998, and they have three children together: Braeden, Shane, and Octavi
