  • #229 - with Cosplay Chris (Chris Stanley)

Jermayn Parker, chats with Chris Stantley who may be better known as Cosplay Chris who caused a lot of excitement at the 2022 Sydney Supanova event as he cosplayed as the Phantom.

This is a PHUN podcast and we discuss all the interesting points ranging from Chris' love for the Phantom, if the suit is a onsie or a twosie and perhaps the biggest question of all - how do you go to the toilet while in costume?

  • #228 - Paul Mason & Masked Marvel

Jermayn Parker, Dan Fraser and Stephen East join forces again to discuss with phan phav creator Paul Mason on his latest Frew Publications created story. The story has a lot of phans excited as it is a sequel to the Lee Falk and Wilson McCoy "The Masked Marvel".

We go through why Paul Mason loves the story, this era and the boxing themes in many classic Phantom stories. Paul also highlights the many Easter Eggs including past boxing legends from the world & Australia and friends who get a billing on a boxing poster. You may have found a few names including Glenn Ford and Rene White, the co owners of Frew Publications as well as the hosts for the X-Band: The Phantom Podcast,

We did have some technical problems but the viewing and listening is still fine. There is also the odd swear word dropped during the podcast - nothing you would not hear at the school yard or work place but we want to declare it up front.

We want your feedback on this story and the podcast with Paul Mason. You can email us at [email protected] or chat with us via our social media profiles with your feedback at Facebook, Twitter and or Instagram.

  • #227 - The Phantom Goes Digital

Jermayn Parker and David Barry join forces to discuss with Scott Einiger who is the founder of Kleckt. You may remember Kleckt as the company who announced their intentions of turning Sy Barry into NFT on the Phantom's birthday in 2022.

This podcast we try and dig into the future of the Phantom and getting the character digitised.

As you listen or watch be prepared to have your mind blown, stretched and challenged. As you will find out what Scott talks about is much more than just a NFT. We talk about providence of collections and how it can add value to your collection or a specific piece. Other topics are a digital museum, the movie, the history and saving it for multiple future generations.

At the 40 minute mark we do watch Scott's trailer for Kleckt which is best viewed on video. If you listen to this on audio only, you will only hear the sound track.

We want your feedback on this podcast and idea of Kleckt. You can email us at [email protected] or chat with us via our social media profiles with your feedback at Facebook, Twitter and or Instagram.

  • #225 - With Sy & David Barry

While this may be our third podcast with Sy Barry, he is a legend who has been in the industry for decades and has countless stories to share. This time is no different as we are also joined by his son David Barry who shares with us stories growing up as the son of a legend. This is a phun podcast you can watch or listen to.

We do not want to give away everything we talk about but some of the subjects we discussed are:

    • His career with Marvel and DC
    • His assistants
    • His legacy
    • Who his favourite assistant he worked with
    • Who his favourite artist he worked with

As we discussed, this is the third time we have chatted with Sy Barry. To listen to these podcast's go here. He is one of the top Phantom influencers with 30+ years drawing the characters plus many more for DC and Marvel and it is worth re listening to the past podcasts again.

Note, that in this podcast we do not talk about Sy Barry's new venture into the NFT world. That will come in a later podcast down the track. You can follow us on our social media accounts or our podcast channels so you wont miss out on that intriguing chat to come.

Please get in touch with us if you have any feedback, questions you wished we asked plus anything else. • #224 - With Pidde Andersson

Stephen East and Jermayn Parker join forces to chat with Pidde Andersson who is a Swede writing stories for the Australian Frew magazine. He is also currently the most prolific story writer for Frew.

We discuss many interesting topics including how he got the job, the joys he received seeing his own stories intended for the English audience find its way to be published by the Fantomen magazine. His career plus interesting tropes on artists he has created stories for including: Shane Foley, Rafael Dantas, Joan Boix, Jason Paulos, Anthony Spay and others.

We dissect his love for the Phantom drinking milk, editing his own stories to fit in a Frew comic and then translating them back into Swedish for the Fantomen magazine.

This is an easy listen and good phun as you get into the brain on a creator who gets and understands the Phantom.

  • #221 - Online Phundraiser Studio Session

Three young bucks, artists Jamie Johnson, Daniel Picciotto and Camillo Di Pietrantonio banded together in an 'online studio session' to raise funds for Unicef. This came on the back of several other artists who have done similar phundraising. You can learn about the phundraiser (fundraiser) campaign Chronicle Chamber have been involved with on X-Band: The Phantom Podcast #214A.

All three artists have credits for Frew, Ninja Turtles plus much more and have a healthy rival at Supanova and Comic Con conventions with their sketch offs and have agreed to do another with us hosting it with a Phantom theme.

This podcast is the recording from the special night. We would suggest you watch this on YouTube and while it is 2.5 hours long, you do not often get to watch not one, or two but three talented artists drawing and talking the Phantom.

We want your feedback on what we discuss during the session. You can email us at [email protected] or chat with us via our social media profiles with your feedback at Facebook, Twitter and or Instagram.
