X-Men ‘97 continues its streak of taking on the big X-comics storylines, this time rounding out its adaptation of the iconic Storm story Lifedeath with some choice re-workings of a few early 90’s issues of Uncanny X-Men. While, sadly, we didn’t get any Swedish europop added to the soundtrack this time around, there were still some excellent cameos, and even another magical girl transformation. The X-Men are good at fighting and winning and fashion and reboots – but also sex. The X-Men are real real good at sexy sexy times. It’s hard saying goodbye to five years of storytelling we all became so attached to but somehow, the era that started our modern coverage has come to an end, and now Nico & TK must say goodbye. X-Men #700 or #35 or whatever isn’t really the goodbye the team hoped for and leads to a twisting, complex discussion with a lot of complicated feelings and a lot of questions.
