President Trump Announces 25 Percent Tariff on Import Cars and Import Car Parts, Effective April 3rd and May 3rd Respectively

The 25% import duty applies on top of any preexisting tariff for cars and light trucks.  The 25% tariff also applies to imported car parts.  The USMCA trade agreement between the U.S. Canada and Mexico still applies.

If the content of a car assembled in Mexico/Canada contains 50 percent component parts from the USA, the 25% tariff only applies to the final value of the imported components. In this example the tariff rate would be 12.5% of the total value.

The tariff applies to all imported cars and light trucks.  Approximately half of all cars sold in the USA are currently American made, the other half are import vehicles from mainly Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Canada and Germany.

This is a very big kick in the teeth to Germany.  Previously in a long-term strategy to avoid U.S. tariffs, German automakers invested billions in auto assembly plants in Mexico.  Ex. the BMW parts were shipped from Germany and the cars assembled in Mexico.  Now that investment is worthless as the vehicle will be taxed at a rate of 25% regardless of whether it is assembled in Germany or Mexico.

Ex.2 High end auto Mercedes currently builds SUVs in the USA in order to avoid the previous 25% tariff; however, they still build cars outside the USA and export them into the USA market.  This will likely change quickly, and Mercedes will begin building all cars and SUVs in the USA.

It cannot be overstated how big a hit this will be to the German economy specifically.  That’s why EU President Ursula von der Leyen is couching her words very carefully.

Germany drives the economic engine of the EU, and the Germans care about their money far more than they care about the security of Ukraine.

 

The next biggest impact will come to Canada.  The auto-sector in Canada only exists to send cars and trucks into the U.S. market.  That’s the entire purpose and business model behind the Canadian auto industry.  Every component part of a Canadian car that does not originate from USA will now be subject to a 25% tariff.

President Trump is zeroing in on the Federal Reserve and setting up a fight with its leader, Jerome Powell.

The president is eager for the Fed to speed up planned interest rate cuts and ease pressure on the economy amid deepening concern about his trade agenda. The Fed, in turn, is preparing for a potential price shock driven by Trump’s tariffs, which would delay any rate cuts, even if the economy weakens.

RACE HOAX: City Employee and School Board Member in Pennsylvania Faces Charges After Allegedly Planting Noose On Her Own Desk

A leftist cit official and school board member in Pennsylvania has been allegedly caught fabricating a race crime that would make woke actor Jussie Smollett proud.

As WFMZ-TV reported on Monday, 42-year-old LaTarsha Brown is facing multiple charges after calling the Allentown Police Department (APD) earlier this year to report a supposed race crime. Brown works as an employee at Allentown City Hall and is a member of the Allentown School Board.

According to a police affidavit obtained by the news outlet, Brown claimed that on January 10, an unknown individual planted an item resembling a noose on her work desk. Four days later, she came down to the police station for questioning.

#1 The Federal Reserve is the central pillar of our debt-based financial system.

The way our system is designed, normally no money comes into existence without more debt being created.

But this creates a huge problem, because when a new dollar is created, the interest that will be owed on that new borrowed dollar is not also created at the same time.

#2 The Federal Reserve and the bankers have a monopoly on the creation of this debt-based money.

In the United States today, the only people that can create money are the bankers.

You cannot create money.

You would go to jail if you tried.

Even the U.S. government is not permitted to create money.

Although the U.S. Constitution specifically gives Congress the power to create money, the U.S. Congress has relinquished that power to the Federal Reserve.

This gives the Federal Reserve an enormous amount of power.

 

#4 The Federal Reserve itself is not a profit-making institution.  Rather, it is a tool that enables others to make obscene amounts of money.

These bridges, constructed before 1991, lack recent "vulnerability assessments" to gauge their risk of collapse from vessel collisions. The NTSB directed its recommendations to 30 bridge owners nationwide, including those managing notable structures like the Golden Gate Bridge in California, the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida.

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District responded by affirming its compliance with regulations and noting a consultant was hired this year to assess the bridge’s resilience to ship impacts. The NTSB clarified that its advice doesn’t imply imminent danger but encourages owners to ensure risks align with standards set by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The bridges are classified as either "critical/essential" (like the Key Bridge) or "typical," based on their significance.

Then President JFK shows up to the briefing, and suggests that CIA covert action programs are outside the scope of the CIA’s supposed primary intelligence gathering mission, and was not worth the taxpayer money. House Oversight Committee Sinks Into Key Study ‘Intentionally Buried’ By Biden Administration

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee is in possession of a key study on natural gas as of Wednesday that the Biden administration withheld in order to move forward with its 2024 crackdown on liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The Biden Department of Energy (DOE) “intentionally buried” a final draft version of a study assessing impacts of LNG export growth in 2023 over worries that it would not support the rationale for the Biden administration’s January 2024 decision to unilaterally freeze LNG export approvals, 

“Biden Administration officials, who religiously claimed to ‘follow the science,’ abandoned it to undermine American-made energy production, appease climate activists, and achieve their predetermined outcomes. As Secretary Granholm sought to weaken America’s LNG industry, the Biden Department of Energy withheld key data from both the American people and Congress in order to push forward their radical environmental agenda,” Republican Kentucky Rep. James Comer, the committee’s chairman, said in a statement

Trump says he believes India will be lowering tariffs on US, Breitbart reports  

 U.S. President Donald Trump told Breitbart News in an interview on Wednesday that he believes India will probably be lowering the tariffs it imposes on American goods.

"I believe they're going to probably going to be lowering those tariffs substantially, but on April 2, we will be charging them the same tariffs they charge us," he was quoted as saying.

EU to delay retaliatory tariffs on US whiskey, other exports 

The EU had been planning to levy two tranches of tariffs starting April 1 on a range of U.S. goods that includes agricultural products and clothing items but announced Thursday that the countermeasures will be taking effect beginning in mid-April.

Gill called the new effective date for the tariffs a “slight adjustment” that would not diminish their economic impact but would allow additional time for negotiations.

Furniture manufacturer shuts down Canadian operations, moves production to N.Carolina  

 Canadian ready-to-assemble furniture supplier Prepac has reportedly shut down its manufacturing operations in Delta, British Columbia, shifting all production to its facility in North Carolina instead.

According to Unifor, the union that represents Prepac’s workers, tariffs are to blame. More than 170 workers will be laid off.

Prepac has not confirmed that the closure and production shift were done as a response to tariffs or the trade war,
