In fact, most of the country’s electricity hubs have already reached their limits.
Aelec data showed that 83.4% of all these power nodes in the Spanish grid are at full capacity and can no longer accept new connections.
Most regions in Spain have limited spare grid capacity to accommodate new energy demand without compromising the system’s stability.

Big: Supreme Court Grants Cert on Tariff Cases, Expedites Proceedings
the Supreme Court has been quite busy this week already, with multiple orders issued pertaining to cases involving the Trump administration. In addition to issuing an administrative stay on the USAID funding cases on Tuesday afternoon, the court also granted the Trump administration’s petition for certiorari on the tariff cases, agreeing to take up the matter just a week-and-a-half after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit issued a rather stunning ruling affirming the Court of International Trade (CIT) decision which set aside five of President Trump’s executive orders imposing tariffs.
As indicated, the court is scheduling oral argument in the case(s) for the first week of November. The next question is what that will mean for the court of appeals, which withheld its mandate until October 14 to allow for an appeal to be filed — and, of course, what steps the administration might take in the interim to mitigate the effect of the court of appeals decision on its trade policy.

Two weeks ago, before both Bloomberg and Reuters, we told our subscribers to “brace for another huge negative payrolls revision”…
BLS reported that as part of its preliminary annual benchmark revisions, a record 911K payrolls for the period April 2024-March 2025 would be revised away
last year’s stunning 818K negative revision, which was the second biggest since the global financial crisis (and which we also warned ahead of time was coming), virtually nobody expected this year’s number to be higher. It was not only higher, but it was the biggest negative revision on record!

Both the recent spike in inflation and the current decline in US jobs are, in a very significant way, the fault of the Federal Reserve.

The August jobs report exposes the Fed’s failure to balance its mandate. The Federal Reserve did not seem to read their own beige book that warned of a widespread job market weakness for months.
By acting too late against inflation and then maintaining overly restrictive rates even as the labor market slowed, the Fed has delivered a “double shock” to working Americans.
First, loose policy eroded purchasing power and savings through inflation; then, aggressive tightening stifled borrowing, spending, and job growth, especially for those least able to adjust—families and small businesses.
The entire burden of monetary correction was placed on the private sector. Rather than creating a smooth transition, the Fed shifted the burden of addressing inflation onto households and small and medium-sized enterprises. With real wage gains evaporated by high interest expenses and job creation weakening, the policy response continues to weigh on the very sectors most vital for broad-based prosperity.

When it flirted with activation in 2023, Claudia Sahm herself urged caution because of pandemic era distortions, but she also stressed that if it flipped cleanly, it meant the labor market was weaker than the glossy headlines implied. Fast forward, and the revisions now show that’s exactly what happened. In August 2024, BLS benchmark adjustments erased 818,000 jobs.
By February 2025, another 589,000 were gone. And just recently, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent flagged that another 800,000 could be stripped out. Add to that the steady drip of downward revisions through 2025, June flipping from a modest gain to a net job loss and the labor market has been overstated by somewhere between 2.3 and 2.4 million jobs since April 2023. Like i said in my previous post that kind of wholesale rewrite hasn’t happened since 2009, when the BLS had to admit it had massively overstated payrolls heading into the financial crisis. And history shows that these benchmark adjustments aren’t just statistical clean up.
They almost always surface at turning points, the stagflationary recession of the mid 1970s, the double dip downturn in the early 1980s, and the collapse of 2007-09. They’re usually evidence that the economy was already much weaker beneath the surface, and the headline strength was more illusion than fact. Which brings us back to the Sahm Rule. On the charts today, the indicator looks muted, sitting well below the 0.5 threshold. But that’s because the unemployment rate itself has been calculated off job counts that are now being revised down. If those missing millions of jobs had been reflected at the time, the unemployment rate would have been higher, the Sahm Rule would have ticked up, and the U.S. might already be shown as having tripped into recession
In other words, the Sahm Rule didn’t miss, the inputs did. Once the revisions are fully baked in, history may show it was flashing red in 2023 while policymakers insisted on labor resilience. That’s what makes this so consequential. For two years, the Fed leaned on the strong jobs market as its justification for keeping rates higher for longer. But if those jobs never really existed, then the Fed was tightening into fragility. That turns its high for longer stance into a policy error built on faulty data. Which is why the September 17, 2025 cut is unlikely to be a one off. As these revisions settle and the depth of labor weakness becomes impossible to deny, the Fed won’t just be trimming for optics. It will be forced into a broader pivot in 2026 acknowledging, belatedly, that the Sahm Rule was right all along.

Look, we’re not going to do economic policy off of one number. We believe that good policies are in place that are going to create good high high-paying jobs for the American people.
Two, let’s look at the efficacy of this number. August is the noisiest month of the year. Typically the highest provisions come in August, that’s why it’s important that we have good data. Austan Goolsbee, who is the head of the Chicago Fed, and probably the most partisan person at the Federal Reserve, in leadership, came out and said, “I don’t know if these numbers are that weak. I don’t know if I’m going to vote for a cut in September, because it may have something to do with the immigration, deportation.” So, this is why we need the data.
Three, if in fact, these numbers are true, it shows that President Trump was right about the Federal Reserve. They are too late. And because of the bad numbers, they likely would have been cutting in June, (if) we believe the numbers.
And four, I can tell you that the one thing this administration is not going to do, and we are not going to let the Democrat media surrogates do, is, during President Biden, (Vice) President Harris’s campaign, they told the American people it’s a vibe session. You don’t understand how good you have it. President Trump was elected for change. And we are going to push through with the economic policies that are going to set the economy right, I believe, by the fourth quarter. We are going to see a substantial acceleration.
The administration isn’t going to see one bad jobs report, point and shout “squirrel!” And then, suddenly change economic policy, presumably to something more that Democrats would favor. That may be what some administrations have done in the past, but not this one; Secretary Bessent seems confident that things will be turning around by the end of the year, and he is also clearly in favor of staying the administration’s current course

In July, California District Court Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong (a Biden appointee) issued a sweeping temporary restraining order (TRO), ruling that the enforcement actions taken by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were unconstitutional and imposing significant restrictions on the standards ICE agents could use to establish “reasonable suspicion” to stop and question suspected illegals. California is preparing to implement two laws, SB 253 and SB 261, which would require companies operating in the state to monitor and report their CO2 emissions, as well as those of their suppliers and customers. Ngo also noted that it is not unusual for people involved in a criminal investigation to obtain legal counsel. It is a matter of protection. But this has not stopped people from accusing Mary Grace Westman of the worst of mothering and evil equal to her child’s act.
However, Ngo strives to demonstrate that there appeared to be a “values misalignment” between Mary Grace and James Allen. Mary Grace was a traditionalist and a devout Catholic. James Allen Westman was neither conservative nor religious. These divided ideals and moral focus may have been what led to their divorce in 2013, when Robert Westman was only 10. A divorce, as mentioned by Ngo’s source above, which was fraught with difficulty. Mary Grace Westman worked at Annunciation Catholic Church as parish secretary for five years before she retired, and received glowing praise from her superiors at the church.
