「Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.」  Amen.

  Although men and women are said to be equal, there are considerable physical and physiological differences between the sexes. We must start by bridging those differences. Once we can do that, we can protect, help, respect, and spend time with our wives. A fun theater-going, a luxurious meals may be nice once in a while, but the most important thing is to heal your wife's heart.

May you walk in the Lord's ways today.

『3:1 私たちは、またもや自分を推薦しようとしているのでしょうか。それとも、ある人々のように、あなたがたに宛てた推薦状とか、あなたがたからの推薦状とかが、私たちに必要なのでしょうか。3:2 私たちの推薦状はあなたがたです。それは私たちの心に書き記されていて、すべての人に知られ、また読まれています。3:3 あなたがたが、私たちの奉仕の結果としてのキリストの手紙であることは、明らかです。それは、墨によってではなく生ける神の御霊によって、石の板にではなく人の心の板に書き記されたものです。3:4 私たちはキリストによって、神の御前でこのような確信を抱いています。』　

パウロは、コリント人への手紙の中で、「キリストの手紙」と書きました。そして、それはイエス様を信じる人の姿そのものであり、生き方そのものであり、証しそのものなのです。そして、それは、2000年以上経った今も脈々と読み継がれている手紙なのです。聖書に登場する最初の手紙は、モーセがシナイ山で頂いた十戒と幕屋でした。第二の手紙は、イエス・キリストの体で書き記された手紙でした。そして、第三の手紙は、聖霊様が私たちに書き記された手紙でした。私達がこの手紙を受け入れ、また、次の人に手渡していくときに、多くの人が救われ、大いなる祝福が与えられるのです。

お祈り致します。

愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。パウロがキリストの手紙と書いたように、綿々と脈々とイエス様を信じる人たちの姿や生き方や証しを通して、多くの人たちに手紙のように読み継がれ、伝え継がれてきていますから感謝します。また、私達が後世の人々に伝える手紙として、より良い信仰の証しとして、伝え続けることができますようにお導き願います。今日の礼拝を感謝し、主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈り致します。アーメン。

「I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,」  Amen.

 The Apostle Paul did not start the church in Colossae, nor did he visit it. It was founded by Epaphras, who heard Paul preach. When Paul heard of the situation there, he wrote this letter while he was in prison in Rome. Paul wrote this even though he was in a Roman prison. Preaching the gospel of Christ involves suffering. But he felt joy in the midst of suffering.

【コロ1:24／新改訳2017】

『今、私は、あなたがたのために受ける苦しみを喜びとしています。私は、キリストのからだ、すなわち教会のために、自分の身をもって、キリストの苦しみの欠けたところを満たしているのです。』

  使徒パウロは、コロサイ教会を立て上げたわけでもなく、訪問したこともありませんでした。パウロの説教を聞いたエパフラスが立ち上げた教会だったのです。でも、その現状を聞いた時に、パウロはローマの獄中ではありましたが、この手紙を書き上げたのです。キリストの福音を伝えることは、苦しみも伴うものなのです。しかし、パウロは苦しみをも喜びとしていたのです。

　今日も、主と共に歩むことができますように・・・。

「Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.」 Amen.

If I had exceptional ability, if I had been surrounded by great wealth, and if my every word had attracted many people, my trust in God would have been diluted. However, if I were in weakness, had no accomplishments, and had faith in God the Creator, I would choose to trust Him.

 May we put our trust in Him today・・・.

【Ⅱコリ12:10／新改訳2017】

『ですから私は、キリストのゆえに、弱さ、侮辱、苦悩、迫害、困難を喜んでいます。というのは、私が弱いときにこそ、私は強いからです。』

  もしも私に類まれな能力があり、私が一言発すると多くの人々が魅せられ、非常な富に囲まれていたとしたら、神様への信頼は希薄になってしまったことでしょう。しかし、私が弱さの中にあり、何の功おしもなかったら、そして、創造主なる神様を信じていたら、神様を信じていく道を選ぶことでしょう。

　今日も、主に信頼を置くことができますように・・・。

 「"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?」 Amen.

  What do we accumulate during our lives? It would be age, position, property, knowledge, honor, etc. But we cannot take those with us when we leave this world. From an eternal perspective, even if you accumulate a lot, it will amount to nothing. The most valuable thing is to have eternal life.

May we be able to see eternity today.

『人は、たとえ全世界を手に入れても、自分のいのちを失ったら何の益があるでしょうか。そのいのちを買い戻すのに、人は何を差し出せばよいのでしょうか。』

　人は生きている間に何を積み上げていくのでしょう。年齢・地位・財産・知識・名誉等々、でも、それはこの世を去る時には持っていくことができないのです。永遠の視点から見ると、多く積み上げたとしても無に等しいのです。永遠の命を得ることが一番の価値があるのです。

　今日も、永遠を視ることができますように・・・。

「The grass withers, the flower fades,But the word of our God stands forever."」　

 Amen.

  Time surely moves on and passes. And it will not return. As time passes, buds sprout from the soil, leaves emerge, buds open, flowers bloom, fruit grows, and then they fall. People are also born, grow, mature, and die. Everything is in transition. However, God's Word is the only thing that remains unchanged and continues to pour down upon us.

May we touch the unchanging Word of the Lord today.

『草はしおれ、花は散る。しかし、私たちの神のことばは永遠に立つ。』　  

時間は、確実に進み、過ぎ去っていきます。そして、戻ってくることはないのです。時間と共に、土から芽が出て、葉が出て、蕾が開き、花が咲き、実がなり、そして、散っていくのです。人も生まれ、成長し、成熟し、そして、死を迎えるのです。すべてが移ろいゆくものです。しかし、神様のみ言葉だけは、変わることなく、私たちの上に降り注がれているのです。

今日も、変わりなき主のみ言葉に触れることができますように・・・。
