Gears of War: E-Day is here, and the first impressions are exactly what Xbox fans were hoping for. MrMcspicey, X1thegamer, and Jordantheman talk through the campaign opening, the updated movement, Siege mode, handheld play on the ROG Xbox Ally X, and why this feels like the kind of big Xbox moment the brand has needed for a long time.
The crew also reacts to Xbox leadership shutting down the idea that Xbox is being sold off. After weeks of speculation, the answer seems pretty clear: Xbox is still Xbox, the games are still coming, and the conversation around the brand is a lot more interesting when it’s rooted in what players are actually getting.
From there, the show turns into a full games conversation. RuneScape Dragonwilds has quietly become the group’s cozy survival game of choice, with fishing, farming, dungeon runs, base raids, locked chests, and a blood pact that is already falling apart. Dune: Awakening gets compared as the heavier survival option, while Dragonwilds keeps winning the crew over by feeling lighter, softer, and easier to live in.
They also get into the current wave of releases, including The Witcher 3 upgrades, Disco Elysium, Keeper, Mythic, Prominence Poker’s impossible billion-chip achievement, and a cyberpunk life sim that immediately gets everyone’s attention. It’s a packed week for Xbox, and it feels like the calm before a much bigger storm of games.

Episode #620: Activision is reportedly taking over development on the next Halo, and honestly, this might be one of the most exciting moves Xbox has made in years. The XoneBros break down why giving Halo to a team with deep shooter experience could be the reset the franchise needs, what Activision could bring from Call of Duty without turning Halo into Call of Duty, and why a great Halo game still matters so much for Xbox.
We also dig into the leaked Xbox Mythic achievement system, including the badge, the sound, the name, and why this could finally give Xbox players a real reason to go back and finish games. Mythic achievements could make 100 percent completions feel special in a way Xbox has needed for a long time, especially if they show up clearly on player profiles.
Plus, we talk about RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Star Wars Zero Company, Destiny’s latest apology video, and the weird pride that comes from comparing completed games. From Qbot to Elden Ring to Prominence Poker, this episode somehow becomes a full debate over what counts as a “real” 100 percent completion.
Join the XoneBros as we talk Halo’s future, Xbox’s new achievement chase, Dragonwilds co-op chaos, and why prestige still matters in gaming. It’s a big week for Xbox fans, and there’s a lot to be excited about.

Episode #619: This week, we dive into World of Warcraft Forever and why it feels like the clearest path for Warcraft to finally make sense on Xbox. Native controller support, the classic-style world, the ROG Xbox Ally experience, and the idea of a fresh perpetual version of WoW all sparked a huge conversation about whether Blizzard is setting this up for console players.
We also talk about the return of StarCraft, the new third-person direction, and why bringing that universe back could be one of the smartest moves Blizzard has made in years. If Xbox wants Blizzard to feel exciting again, Warcraft and StarCraft are the two franchises that can do it.
Plus, we get into Star Wars Zero Company, turn-based strategy games, Halo Wars, Kingmakers, Control Resonant, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Dragon Wilds, Palworld, Ocarina of Time, and the absolute avalanche of games hitting right now. It’s one of those weeks where the backlog is not just growing, it’s actively laughing at us.
We also touch on Kojima’s Xbox presence, what it means for perception in Japan, Double Fine’s post-Xbox moment, and whether Xbox finally has stronger leadership and accountability around its studios. Big Blizzard talk, big Xbox energy, and a whole lot of games to play.

Episode #618: This week, we dive into the new Crimson Desert expansion trailer and why it immediately pulled the crew right back in. Ships, player housing, dragons, underwater exploration, new combat moves, and a whole new area make this feel way bigger than a simple DLC drop. Pearl Abyss is treating Crimson Desert like a living world, and we talk through why that might be one of the most interesting things happening in gaming right now.
We also get into Xbox Disc to Digital and why it could be a huge step for game ownership. Turning a physical disc into a digital license, while still letting that license move with the disc if you sell it or give it away, feels like a smart bridge between physical collections and digital convenience. Add Xbox Play Anywhere to that, and the future of carrying your library across console, PC, and handheld starts to look a lot better.

Episode #617: This week, we react to the extended Grand Theft Auto VI reveal and break down why it has us more excited than ever. From the scale of Vice City to the lighting, driving, gunplay, character switching, and all the tiny Rockstar details, this was the kind of gameplay look that makes you stop and realize just how big this game could be.
We talk through the Netflix first reveal, whether that rollout helped or hurt the moment, and how the trailer landed after we finally got to watch it. The crew gets into Jason and Lucia, the car chase sequence, the improved combat, the world detail, the possible mini games, the social media systems, and why GTA 6 already looks like a game people could get lost in for years.
Gamescom also gave us plenty to dig into. The Blood of Dawnwalker has our attention with its vampire Witcher energy, 30 day story structure, day and night systems, and choice driven world. Then Gears of War: E-Day brought the Xbox energy back with Marcus, Dom, brotherhood, brutal Locust, and a trailer that felt exactly like what Gears should be.

Episode #616: Xbox had one of its most interesting fan culture weeks in a long time. Between the leaked 25th anniversary controller, the Gamescom lineup, Gears E-Day collectibles, and even Xbox trading cards, it feels like Microsoft is leaning into the history and personality of the brand in a way fans can actually connect with.
This week we talk through the Xbox 25th anniversary controller, the rumored price, the throwback design, and why the small details matter. We also dive into Gears E-Day, including the Gibson guitar giveaway, the full-scale Lancer replica, the multiplayer beta, and why the return to the classic Gears tone has us cautiously excited.

This week, the XoneBros talk through the idea of an Xbox “platinum” style system, why PlayStation’s trophy setup has worked so well, and what Xbox needs to get right if it wants achievement hunting to feel more rewarding.
We also get into Bethesda, Skyrim, and the long wait for Elder Scrolls 6. Did Skyrim’s endless success slow everything down? Is Bethesda facing a bigger challenge after Starfield? And what does Xbox need from Fallout and Elder Scrolls going forward?

Episode #613: Halo: Campaign Evolved is finally here, and we jumped into legendary four-player co-op to see if the magic still holds up.
The good news? The main campaign is a blast. Sprint feels great, the weapons hit harder, friendly fire makes everything funnier, and the whole thing captures that classic Halo chaos with the boys. It feels like going back to the college dorms — grenades everywhere, Marines flying through the sky, and nobody playing responsibly.
The not-so-good news? The new prequel missions are rough. They have a few cool moments, but overall they feel flat enough to make us wonder what they say about the future of Halo. We also get into the weird internet outrage around the game, the Cortana model debate, awkward cutscenes, Unreal Engine 5 rough edges, and what Halo Studios should do next.

Episode #612: This week on XoneBros, we talk about console generations, why hardware leaps don’t feel as dramatic as they used to, how AI demand is affecting RAM, chips, and PC building, and why the next Xbox generation could be shaped by more than just raw power.
We also get into Crimson Desert playtime, cooking mechanics, Gears of War nostalgia, motion sickness from old-school roadie running, Halo on a modern engine, and whether old games hit differently when you didn’t grow up with them.
