Summary: This workshop will ascertain what global issues are uppermost in the minds of participants and will then navigate ways of dealing with the implications of these events. It will seek to establish how individuals can become more resilient in the face of these events and how they might play a small but positive role in mitigating the negative effect of global issues.

Bio: Sir Brother Patrick Lynch has been a DLS Brother for over 50 Years and has been the principal of a secondary school for 16 years. He was the CEO of the New Zealand Catholic Education Office for 22 years. He has had extensive experience with the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organisations for 12 years both in New Zealand and internationally and has also done work with a range of groups from various religious traditions and diverse groups.

or calling is a journey. It takes time, but good guidance will allow you to be open to answer the call. Sr believes you will find your way and she intends to illustrate to you, that you should never “GIVE UP.”

Bio: Sr. Nithya Rayappan, Passionist Sisters of St. Paul of the Cross was born in the Southern Part of India - Tamil Nadu. She now works at St. Michael’s College, Adelaide as a Pastoral Support Worker.

'Answering the Call to Mental Health' presented by Ruby Crowe.

Summary: This workshop will reflect on Ruby’s journey as a young person and what has influenced her to work in youth mental health. The aim is to inform young people about mental health and provide information on how we can support our friends and others going through a tough time.

Bio: Ruby is a former Youth Minster of DLS Cronulla. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Wollongong and has a passion for youth mental health and guiding those to find their way to a positive mental wellbeing.

WHY MASS?

St John Vianney said, “If we really understood the Mass, we

would die of joy.” However, we know from personal experience that sometimes, it feels like we might die of boredom instead. So, What is mass really about, and why should we go?

In this workshop, Lasallian Youth Ministers, Sebastian and Damian, explore the question 'Why Mass?'. Their intention isn't to make you go to Mass - but to help you understand 'Why we do have the Mass?' including understanding its structure.

SEBASTIAN DUHAU- DE LA SALLE COLLEGE ASHFIELD

Sebastian graduated as school captain from St Andrew's Catholic College, Marayong (NSW) in 2014. He is currently studying at the University of Sydney with a double degree in Engineering and Arts. He has had extensive experience in parish-based youth ministry, having been involved since he was in Year 7 and as a leader from Year 10. In 2017, Sebastian has also begun working part-time as part of the youth ministry team in the Provincial Office.

DAMIAN KHOURY-SOUTHERN CROSS CATHOLIC COLLEGE, SCARBOROUGH, QLD

Damian was born in South Africa and was Lasallian Captain at his former school, De La Salle Holy Cross College, Johannesburg. After migrating to Australia he kept a strong Lasallian connection. He was in the Lasallian Youth Gathering band as a very talented musician that played in Brisbane in 2014.

Bio: Fr. Hong Pham was born in Vietnam on the 17th of January 1949. He endured the rule of the Viet Cong having being placed in prison for ten years for standing up for his faith. His is a story of hope, perseverance and a continual answering the call. He is a martial artist, former brother, Priest and Lasallian.

Bio: Is a former Lasallian Youth Minister from DLS Ashfield, and now a Religious Education Coordinator married to a fellow Lasallian. She is heavily involved in the Diocese of Parramatta being part of “DDC: Diocesan Dance crew” and the Parramatta Youth Council. She enjoys playing soccer and has recently completed a pilgrimage to the Holy land. She is a dynamic speaker and committed Lasallian.

Bio: Br Mark was born in Queensland and is a proud support of the Maroons. He has spent considerable time in New Zealand and is an avid walker, walking several kilometres each day. He has worked at Bethlehem University in the West Bank of Palestine since October 2014, where he has continued to walk despite many check-points. During his time at the University he has been involved in facilitating leadership programs for students, the training of student ambassadors at the University and in vocation promotion in the four Lasallian schools in the Holy Land. He began the Lasallian Youth Leader Program alongside a team at Oakhill College.
