New Years Eve is supposed to be a time of joy, care-free fun, and a chance to reset. Ben Smart and Olivia Hope were two young, fun-loving friends who couldn't wait to go out on New Years Eve. They spent their day hanging out with friends before meeting up at the biggest New Years Eve island party in town. Their night went great, even though they left the party without anywhere to stay. After boarding a water taxi in the wee hours of the morning searching for a place to sleep, they were offered a place by a stranger. Sleepy and ready to go, they decide to accept his offer, get off of the water taxi and onto the stranger's boat. After this, they we never seen again. As the investigation unfolds, police are given witness accounts of what this stranger and his boat looked like. But police decided they had their suspect, and he looked nothing like what anybody had described. Police even went so far as to tell witnesses what they saw didn't exist.
Take a DEEP DIVE into crime to find out how police may have convicted the wrong man while desperately trying to find justice for two young victims.
