A parasocial relationship is a one‑sided emotional bond where a person feels connected to someone who doesn’t actually know them—often a public figure, creator, or streamer. 

However, these types of relationships can also occur on social media due to our "friends" being accessible, and familiar, even if we do not know them personally.
