In 684 bce, the prince of the small kingdom of Ch’en / Chen married his daughters, the elder to the prince of Ts’ai / Cai, the younger to the prince of Hsi / Xi. All three were small fiefs; Ts’ai was allied with Ch’i / Qi in the north, Hsi with Ch’u / Chu in the south. The daughters were both beautiful. The younger sister’s bridal procession had to pass through Ts’ai to reach Hsi. The prince of Ts’ai, a malignant narcissist, raped her as she passed through. The groom, the prince of Hsi, enlisted the help of Ch’u.

In 546 bce, the brothers sought help from Left Minister Ch’ing /Qing Feng, which did not prove to be a wise decision. Tungkuo Yen/ Dongguo Yan and T’ang Wuchiu / Tang Wujiu were murdered, with the help of Lu P’u P’ieh / Lu Pupie. This episode is pretty dark.

徐世勣生于西元五九四年，正直隋朝中期；十七歲，農民起義，徐世勣加入翟讓的瓦崗軍。李密殺翟讓，徐世勣歸順唐高祖。高祖稱他為「純臣」，封曹國公、英國公，賜姓李。後避唐太宗李世民的諱，去「世」字，就是兵法上赫赫有名的李勣。
李勣常謂人：「我年十二三時為亡賴賊，逢人則殺。十四五為難當賊，有所不愜則殺人。十七八為佳賊，臨陳乃殺之。二十為大將，用兵以救人死。」但也有他很貼心的一面。
